UCLA vs. USC Bone Marrow Challenge

Competition between UCLA and USC can make everyone a winner by increasing lifesaving bone marrow donations. The unique challenge for three days in November – National Bone Marrow Awareness Month – began with the family and friends of a current UCLA patient whose mixed ethnicity has made it hard to find a matched donor.

Organized by UCLA Health System and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), a non-profit organization dedicated to making marrow transplants possible for every racial and ethnic community, the goal of the UCLA versus USC Bone Marrow Challenge is to encourage as many people as possible to join the bone marrow registry.

Participants in the challenge will simply fill out a form and have a mouth swab taken by a trained representative. No blood is drawn and no fingers are poked.

Come join in this great effort.
