INSIDE STORIES

Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays

Each year during the holiday season, the UCLA Medical Center Auxiliary Adopt-a-Family Program assists families of UCLA patients experiencing extraordinary challenges by providing some basic essentials and a few unexpected extras, to make the holidays at little brighter for the whole family.

With the generous support of the UCLA community and funds provided by the Auxiliary, this project reaches out to more and more families every year. The goal for 2008 is to help a minimum of 200 families and, for the first time, to expand the project to include patients from Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital.

The Auxiliary would like to encourage all UCLA Health System departments and staff to join them in this worthy effort and become 2008 Adopt-a-Family Sponsors.

The most rewarding way to participate is to adopt, shop and/or deliver for a family assigned to you. You can also become a sponsor by making a cash donation. Either way, you will share in the joy of knowing you helped bring some holiday magic to many deserving patients and their families.

This year's project officially launched October 1, and sponsors will be matched with families through November 30. For an opportunity to participate please contact Rachel Dourec at aaf2008rd@verizon.net or (310) 820-2416; or contact Murphy Litvack at aaf2008@aol.com or (310) 476-1617.
