The Closer Prevails Again! Benefit Helps Rape Treatment Center

The Rape Treatment Center (RTC) at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital, along with Kyra Sedgwick and other cast members from TNT's series "The Closer," hosted a fundraising brunch on Sunday, October 5.

More than 800 celebrities, community leaders and RTC supporters attended the event. The event highlighted a year of impressive RTC achievements, including a campaign to eliminate the backlog of untested rape kits and ensure faster analysis of DNA evidence.

"This event helps ensure that we can advocate on this urgent issue while continuing to offer free services to sexualassault victims, provide prevention education at schools and colleges and training for victim service providers," says Gail Abarbanel, RTC director
