Santa Monica Celebrates Milestones

With the help of staff impersonating celebrities, SMUCLA honored 71 employees celebrating service milestones from 10 to 35 years at its annual Service Awards Ceremony in May.

Labor & Delivery’s Ascencion “AJ” Gonzales was the top honoree with 35 years of service. Linda Bedwell in Facilities and Leigh Willis on 4 Pavilion were next with 30 years of service. Benita Gibson, Central Service, Kelli Power, Human Resources, and Consuelo Ruiz, EVS, were each recognized for 25 years.

The celebrity impersonators, who represented icons from the milestone years, included Timothy Ellsworth, Lynn Sullivan, Rey Hernandez, Fiona Angus, Jaime Hernandez, Larry Williams, Posie Carpenter and Michael Herbst, M.D.
