UCLA
Launches “Freedom From Smoking” Smoking Cessation
Program
Being
and staying healthy is fundamental to enjoying an energetic
and productive life. Smoking not only interferes with good
health, it can destroy it. In fact, almost half a million
people die due to smoking-related diseases each year.
If
you are one of 45 million Americans that still smokes but
long to quit and want to feel better, have more energy and
reduce your risk of life-threatening lung and heart disease,
UCLA is the right place to be!
UCLA
Healthcare now offers an eight-session smoking cessation program
to help its employees and community members to finally kick
the habit! Each session is designed to motivate and arm the
smoker with the necessary tools to give up smoking for life.
A step-by-step process covers many areas of concern, such
as weight control, stress, and social situations. “Freedom
From Smoking” is a well-proven and established program
designed by the American Lung Association.
Smoking
cessation sessions will begin on Tuesday evening, July 25.
Each session lasts from 90 minutes to 2 hours and are conveniently
held in 200 UCLA Medical Plaza, Suite 206.
As
part of the UCLA Wellness Initiative, the discounted cost
for UCLA employees is $75 (for non-UCLA employees, the cost
is $120). If you are trying to kick the habit or have a loved
one who is, please contact (310) 825-0014 for more information.
