Nethercutt Emergency Center Cited for Excellence in Heart Attack Care

The Nethercutt Emergency Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital (SM-UCLA & OH) recently became the first Westside hospital to receive designation by the Department of Health Services and Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency as a special receiving center for heart-attack patients. This means that paramedics will preferentially bring heart-attack patients to the Nethercutt Emergency Center, which has demonstrated its ability to rapidly mobilize resources, including its Cardiac Catheterization Team, to provide potentially lifesaving care on a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week basis.
