Celebrate Good Health
at Second Wellness Fair

Join UCLA Healthcare employees as we celebrate the second annual Wellness Fair on Thursday, May 10, from 8:00 to 10:00 pm in the cafeteria, and Friday, May 11, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the outside main entrance to UCLA Medical Center.

The UCLA Wellness Initiative is a pilot program that supports the goal of UC Living Well: to increase participation in wellness activities and programs offered by UC campuses and UC-sponsored medical plans.

"UC Living Well offers a system-wide umbrella for programs that support healthy lifestyles. UC Living Well is designed to help UCLA faculty, staff and their families engage in and maintain healthy lifestyles to enhance personal well being," says Ellen Wilson, director of UCLA inpatient rehabilitation services. If the program proves successful, it will be implemented throughout the UC system.

Here’s a sampling of what you’ll find at the Wellness Fair:

  • Food vendors, including Whole Foods and Costco
  • Healthy food samples
  • Nutritional information from the dietitians’ booth
  • Representatives from Blue Cross, Kaiser
  • Neck massage
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Information about Tea for the Soul and the 50plus Program

A similar event will be planned for Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital in the near future.
